Smoky Mountain Hideaway

Very nice place other than the water smelling horrible so bad to the point i was gagging in the shower. I had to call them to get all of my check-in details as they didn’t respond to any of my messages sent via airbnb. The keypad stopped working our last night and we were standing out in the rain but the host were very helpful as it wasn’t their fault. other than the water everything was great very comfy and clean

We started out in the original Airbnb, which I’m leaving a review for but ended up having to switch to a different Airbnb due to a full septic tank. When we did a load of laundry, all the drains started gurgling, and the toilets quit flushing and eventually started overflowing water. The Airbnb host was very accommodating and found us a different Airbnb to stay in. The Airbnb listed here was cute. You could tell other pets have been there before since there was furniture that had been chewed on, but that was OK with us since we also brought two dogs. The driveway to the Airbnb was pretty steep, but from what I’ve heard this is typical for the area. The hot tub heated up, but the lights didn’t work. The place was clean, but could’ve used some more cooking supplies like pans, etc.. The host was attentive and answered my messages, but sometimes it did take a little while to get a reply. It was also a little difficult to reach a human when calling the number.

Pros: The location was very private and quiet. Short drive to town. LOTS to do nearby. The house was quaint and clean. WiFi instructions were posted clearly in the house. Washer and dryer were a plus. Cons: Only get assistance when you call (the lady who answered was great) otherwise no communication. No clear instructions on accessing their portal outside Airbnb (which you apparently need to receive door code). The driveway was barely visible and the only indicator was a single digit on a utility pole. The other address numbers need replaced. Couch was soaked from previous cleaning (I assume). Our stop in the area was a fairly last minute need so I am grateful this was available. Better communication and signs for drive would have made this stay more satisfying and less frustrating.
